I heard strange noises behind a wall in my house – I was shocked to see what the source was

A woman who heard strange noises behind her wall was stunned to discover that there was a cat trapped behind her wall.

She detailed the rescue of the barricaded shooter in a TikTok video with over 6.6 million views.

The stroboscopic clip showed homeowner Lacy Day and several men cutting away a square panel of plaster to reveal the “source of the noise” in their wall.

The wall eventually collapsed to reveal a gray mass.

While at first it looked like a giant dust bunny or drywall insulation, its viewers soon discovered that it is not.

“It’s a cat,” remarked the wall-cutter, while another boy commented how he could “see it breathing.”

“She’s a wedge,” he shouted as the cat began to stir.

Meanwhile, Day stroked the misty-looking ball, eventually pulling it out of the pussy portal, while the man who opened the wall asked someone to get a “kennel.”

The clip ends with the plaster-covered kitten climbing out of the hole, apparently cat finally after her indoor spelunking accident.

It is still unclear who the owner was, although Day speculated it could belong to “Taylor”, apparently a neighbour, Express.co.uk reported.

TikTok commenters were baffled by the strange lock-and-drop, with one shouting: “Poor baby, hope she’s ok.”

Another wrote, “Aww, she’s so lucky you found her!”

However, other commentators could not resist poking fun at the strange situation. “Expect cats to only appear on walls?” ridiculed one. “When is this going to happen to me?!?!?!”

“Wow, the cat delivery system it works in mysterious ways,” joked another.

Interestingly, finding these balls of hair surrounded by concrete is apparently not as rare as people think.

“My cats did this in our unfinished garage – my dad put so many holes in the walls trying to find them,” said one.

Another recounted finding their neighbor’s kitten lurking under the floorboards.

According to Feline Behavior Solutions, the behavior comes from their feral cat ancestors, who would find secluded places to raise their kittens and hide from predators.

Unfortunately, this can be quite unsafe as mousetraps can be wedged in, or, even worse, sealed against the wall by contractors, as was the case with one poor kitty in California.
