About six months after real estate developer Brandon Miller’s suicide, and about five months after his main asset — a roughly 8,000-square-foot Hamptons home — was listed for sale, the East End property is officially in the hands of a new owner. young.
That’s according to a report Friday in the New York Times, which added that the seven-bedroom Water Mill property — whose specific street address was not disclosed in its listing — was saddled with five mortgages totaling about 12 million dollars.
However, the final sale price and the identity of the new owner are unknown.
Brandon Miller was the husband of influencer Candice Miller, best known for her Instagram account “Mama & Tata” – a lifestyle page that showcases her luxurious and high life.
In the early days of summer, at the age of 43, Miller was poisoned in the garage of this Hamptons estate, dying during the Fourth of July holiday at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital while facing debts of nearly $34 million. He is survived by Candice and their two daughters.
At the time of his death, Miller had $8,000 in the bank
And just a month after he passed away, the family’s Water Mill mansion was listed for sale, asking $15.49 million, according to OutEast listings.
Represented by brokerage titan East End Bespoke Real Estate, which declined to comment for this story, the property’s listing describes 1.12 acres and a completion date of 2013. Marketing images show a bare exterior — and airy interiors with a spacious eat-in kitchen, fireplaces in multiple rooms, a movie theater and massive windows that flood the residence with light.
Outside, the footage also shows, there’s a pool with lounge seating and a small pool house with a kitchen and indoor seating space.
Candice, according to court records cited by the Times, considered at least two offers for the mansion and its furnishings. There was one for $12.8 million and another, slightly higher, for $13 million. It traded hands last week.
A portion of the sale proceeds, in part, paid off a $208,000 loan and its interest, the newspaper said.
At the end of his life, Miller had an intense need for money. In tears, he approached a lender who let him borrow that six-figure sum in early June, or about a month before his death. Miller said he would repay the amount within a week, offering part of this Hamptons home as collateral, the Times reported.
By the middle of that month, Miller stopped responding to the lender’s calls and texts. The lender, whose identity was not disclosed by the Times, began reaching out to Miller’s attorney to get him to make a good-faith partial payment, which he never did.
The lender told the Times he wished he hadn’t put such pressure on Miller.
After Miller’s death, Candice and her daughters left New York for Miami Beach, where they are living in a three-bedroom apartment worth $10 million.
This property was purchased in 2023 by a trust linked to Alexander von Fürstenberg, son of fashion mogul Diane von Fürstenberg and her late ex-husband, Prince Egon von Fürstenberg.
