Meaningless luggage with a red label has ‘attracted’ travelers: ‘If you know, you know’

This will lead to your anxiety increasing.

A photo of a simple suitcase has “snuggled” holidaymakers – and it’s all thanks to a new, fictional film.

“If I see this at the airport, I will cancel my flight ASAP!!” a user X posted online along with a photo of a black hard-shell suitcase decorated with a small red ribbon on the handle. “If you know, you know.”

The user is referring to the recently released movie “Carry On,” starring Jason Bateman and Taron Egerton, which follows the story of a criminal who attempts to smuggle a dangerous piece of luggage past the TSA and onto a flight.

The carry-on featured in X’s viral post bears an eerie resemblance to the roller bag featured in the film. While some claimed the owner of the luggage “did it on purpose to scare people”, others wouldn’t take any chances.

“I saw this movie three days ago, I’m definitely going out,” one person responded online.

“Watched this last night – passed out and immediately flashed back because of PTSD,” said another user.

“See something, say something or post something… if you’re reading this, it’s too late for those at the airport,” joked someone else.

“We all learned how to disarm him,” one viewer reasoned.

One skeptic, however, dismissed it, writing: “People use ribbon all the time to distinguish their luggage from everyone else’s, be real.”

But maybe overcautious travelers aren’t so dramatic after all.

Just days ago, influencer and DJ Xandra Pohl took to TikTok to warn other flyers about the dangers of holiday travel after she also saw the action thriller.

β€œA week and a half ago, I was flying from Miami to DC. I got to the airport, I go through TSA, everything is fine,” she said in a viral clip. “Just before I got on the flight, the lady at the front desk comes up and she says, ‘Everybody has to have their IDs and passports.’

Before the gate agent scanned the boarding passes, there was another person who checked for valid identification and to make sure the name on the boarding pass matched the ID cards or passports, Pohl explained. On the bridge, there was another security group looking at “everything in your luggage,” she said.

After jokingly asking the agent if there was “something going on” because of the increased security, she was taken back by their response.

According to Pohl, security personnel said, “‘It’s a vacation. Be alert, don’t travel alone.'”

“He said, ‘I can’t tell you what’s going on, but you need to be on high alert and be very aware of your surroundings,'” she recalled.

The ominous warning comes as record numbers of people are said to be traveling on holiday.
