Passengers panic as American Airlines flight ‘floods’ in midair: ‘New fear unleashed’

Crazy flyers feared they would “drow” 30,000 feet above the ground.

Cruising through friendly skies was as wet as sailing on the high seas for passengers on an American Airlines flight from Dallas, Texas, to Minneapolis, Minnesota in December. 7. as water began to flood the cabin in the air.

American Airlines did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.

However, social media is certainly talking about the water ride.

“The in-flight movie was Titanic,” one content creator captioned a viral clip featuring footage of the soggy disaster. Footage of the overflow has racked up over 7.2 million TikTok views.

Céline Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On,” which served as the soundtrack to the 1997 movie about the luxury liner that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean in 1912, played in the background of the post.

Video showed shocked passengers scrambling to escape the flow, which seeped down the aisle towards the front of the plane due to a leak in a rear bathroom.

Hilary Stewart Blazevic, a passenger on the plane, claimed a woman had used the bathroom and alerted a flight attendant about the leak, according to Storyful. But the cabin crew member was unable to extinguish the cascade.

“It was complete disbelief and a bit of panic realizing they couldn’t turn off the water,” Blazevic said, adding that flyers grabbed their belongings off the floor and lifted their feet to avoid the “disgusting” pool.

Creepy online commentators are calling the mayhem “their new ‘Final Destination’ scare” – likening the disaster to the franchise’s horror movies about people narrowly avoiding imminent death.

“Image of the drowning…on the plane…in the air,” wrote one shocked spectator.

“Drowning at 30,000ft going 500mph lol,” remarked an equally shocked viewer.

“New final destination fear unlocked,” added another.

But some water — which may or may not be sewage — is far from the scariest obstacle fliers have endured in recent months.

Jetsetters on a Boeing 737 flew in panic after oxygen masks were suddenly placed on their faces while on board an Air Algerie flight AH 1460 flying from Algeria to Lyon, France, in August.

And passengers on an Avianca Airlines flight to Colombia were left screaming, clutching their seats and praying to themselves when severe turbulence violently rocked the plane during a September departure.

“It was a very panicky moment,” said one passenger, who recorded the terrifying chaos. “[We] I thought the plane was going to crash.”
