Here is a hard lesson that will stick.
A traveler demanded a refund after another passenger shook their chair throughout the flight.
“By this point, he had done this at least 20 times and I was getting irritated,” the traveler stated online.
The Reddit user, who goes by @IndependentClub1117, revealed in an online post how their flight from Germany to Macedonia was a tumultuous experience, all because of one passenger.
“Even before I left the gate, I felt my seat shaking. “Turning around, I saw a man grab me from the back of my seat,” they added. “Each time I leaned back trying to squeeze his hand, making him pull away.”
However, despite the passive nudges, the passenger continued the intrusive behavior. He escalated his actions by grabbing the top of a Reddit user’s headrest, almost touching their head.
“I turn around dramatically, looking back down the aisle, he’s just looking/talking to a woman three rows back, apparently his partner,” the Redditor wrote. “When our eyes met, he withdrew his hand.
The traveler was at his wits end, with tensions rising and ready to seek revenge.
The next time I felt the vibration, pretending to lie down, I washed my fingers with a generous lick, I almost spat on them, grabbed the back of my seat and just washed my hand, they confessed.
After the wet touch, the traveler no longer experienced turbulence in their seat.
“Needless to say, he didn’t touch my seat for the rest of the flight,” laughed the Reddit user.
Although they were able to enjoy the remainder of their flight, intrusive thoughts began to fade, wondering if they took their revenge too far.
“Was I wrong?” asked the passenger. “I didn’t know how to understand the purpose of not continuing to shake the country after many failed attempts.”
Meanwhile, fellow Redditors resonate with the unpleasant travel experience.
“I had a kid kicking the back of my seat for a good portion of my flight home,” one person wrote. “I already have a spinal condition and this baby was lil ct.”
“I had a woman reach over her head and grab the top of the seat covering the top of my screen,” commented one frequent flyer.
A reader suggests publicly shaming overbearing passengers so they can learn boundaries.
“I’ve always found that public shaming works best. A loud voice “Are you trying to touch me?!?” or “Will you keep your hands to yourself?” that at least three lines can hear does the trick, – laughed another.
“As a frequent and non-shameful flyer, my favorite is saying out loud to my friend, ‘If you have to fart so bad for the love of God, use the bathroom,'” exclaimed one Redditor.
